Post-Rehab Exercise & Therapeutic Yoga Programs

You may be recovering from orthopedic surgery or living with cancer or a chronic illness and want and need personalized support to improve your strength and sense of well-being.

Although discharged by your physician or physical therapist to return to normal activities, you may still need guidance to create a movement plan that is safe and achievable, that supports your ability to heal in both body and mind.

Or you may be experiencing side effects from medications, or movement limitations that still need to be addressed as you find your confidence and embrace a “new normal.”

I can help.

My Approach: Integrating Corrective Exercise with Body-Mind Practices

In the two decades that I’ve been developing personalized programs, it’s become clear to me (and many mainstream healthcare professionals) that the mind and the body cannot be separated – especially when healing is a priority.

Ease and steadiness of the breath will support ease and steadiness in the body. Steadiness and ease in the body will help calm the mind and enhance resilience and vitality.

When the mind and the body are in concert,
we have a rich opportunity for healing on every level.

As you and I work together, not only will you have a safe, trusted space for moving forward, you will also have my support in helping you understand the benefits of your movement practices so that you can be mindfully engaged in your progress.

Your Program: Personalized and Achievable

You’ll get time to share your recent health experiences and recovery process so I can help you clarify your goals for moving forward.

Together we will consider your physical activity and health history, assess your functional strength and flexibility and co-create a plan that fits your needs and situation – while progressing at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

I will be happy to consult with your doctor or partner with your PT as needed.

My priority is to provide a safe and achievable movement program you will feel confident you can practice.

Your individual program may include some or all of these elements:

  • yoga and/or postural alignment practices

  • strength and flexibility practices

  • stress reduction, body sensing, breathing practice

  • guidelines and goals for cardiovascular exercise
